Her Scars

Her Scars

Her eyes always used to ask me,

“Why not me”?

Is it because i am not beautiful?

Or this world doesn’t know how to loves the

girls with scars?

Always leaving me speechless.

Everytime i wanted to explain to her that,

Yes! It was her scars which scared me, i

couldn’t.

Because

It was these scars i never wanted to turn into

wounds,

It was these scars which made me realise that i

was not the one who could cherish her

immense beauty.

Maybe yes it was these scars,

Which stopped me from ruining her.

  3. Beautiful honest words, so well-written, tender and heart-felt. It touched me. Love these lines which I feel give the special climax of emotional intensity to your poem: “Yes! It was her scars which scared me, i/ couldn’t./ Because/ It was these scars i never wanted to turn into/ wounds,”.Yes, we are all scarred after the wounds have healed. Our bodies and souls are made up of scarred landscapes. Very human. Loved it! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I really appreciate this!
